Make math relevant and fun for your child by finding ways that math is important in every day activities.  

*Let your child count money when he/she wants to purchase a small item at the store.

*When your child asks what time it is, help him/her figure out the time so that this becomes an independent task.

*When planning a snack or purchasing supplies for a party, allow your child to help you figure the amount of various items that you will need to purchase or prepare.  Depending on the age of your child, this could involve addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division.
