Re:  Back to School Information

I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing summer.  I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve as the building principal for the Lafayette County C-1 Middle School.  I look forward to working with each of you throughout the upcoming school year and I’m confident the 2016-17 school year will be filled with numerous educational events that will allow you the opportunity to learn and grow.

Listed below are several dates of interest.  Please review the dates, mark them on your calendar, and attempt to take part in these back to school activities.

The Middle School staff would like to invite all incoming 6th graders, as well as any student new to the middle school, to attend our Middle School Camp.  The Middle School Camp will be held on Wednesday, August 10th.  The camp will last from 7:15 am to 11:15 am.  The camp is designed to allow all students new to the middle school a chance to become familiar with our school.  Our hope is to assure a smooth transition from elementary to middle school for all students.

We will have donuts and juice for the students and parents in the middle school / high school library starting at 7:15 am.  At 7:35 am, Mr. Stickel and the middle school staff will welcome all students and parents in the high school library.  At approximately 7:40 am, Mr. Stickel will host a question answer session in the library for the parents.  At this time the students will be dismissed to the middle school gym to begin their daily activities.

The camp will offer an opportunity for students to: participate in building tour  that is designed to help them find their way around the school, meet the staff, have questions answered by a student panel, practice opening their lockers, preview the student agendas, as well as many other introductory activities.
