About Me:Inserted Image

I was raised in North Carolina where I was educated in a full-time gifted program from 3rd-12th grade.  North Carolina was and still is on the forefront of gifted education and this was one of the very first programs in the country.  So I've been interested in gifted children all my life.

I obtained a bachelor's degree from Stephens College in Columbia, MO and a Master's degree from the University of North Carolina.  I returned to college in the '90's when Missouri decided gifted teachers needed specific certification and completed that requirement.  I am currently certified in 4 areas: K-8, Gifted Education, Middle School Social Studies, and High School English.

I have been teaching for 36 years, 23 of them as a gifted education teacher.  I think I have the best job in the world, and wouldn't trade it for anything!!
